Laser Epilation with Vectus Laser

The laser epilation equipment is safety certified and the treatment therefore has no adverse effects on the body. Medical cooling devices are used in the treatments, which maximizes the comfort of the procedure and minimizes the sensation.

Before the first laser epilation treatment the selected body part should be shaved, leaving a small fragment of skin with hair, approx. 2cm x 2cm so that the cosmetologist can select the appropriate laser beam parameters.

WHAT DOES VECTUS™ LASER EPILATION TREATMENT LOOK LIKE?

Vectus™ is a diode laser with a wavelength of 810 nm. It has a high affinity for melanin, the pigment of hair. The light is absorbed by the pigment, which consequently leads to photothermolysis (thermal destruction) of the hair follicle.

Before the treatment, the Skintel™ reader is applied to the patient’s skin in the area from which hair will be removed. It determines the melanin level and based on this reading the individual treatment parameters are automatically set. This allows the use of optimum energy with maximum safety and no risk of burns.

Depending on the treatment area, the appropriate head size is selected. When working on large areas, e.g. legs, the large head is used, and on small areas, e.g. the moustache, the precise small head is used.

The head is applied to the skin and a pulse of light is sent out. The head is finished with a thick layer of sapphire glass, which has cooling properties. Combined with contact cooling technology, it ensures patient comfort during the procedure.

The treatment is very quick. For example, it takes about 30 minutes to remove hair from a man’s back.

TREATMENT AFTER LASER EPILATION

Immediately after the treatment the skin may be slightly reddened. A mild sensation similar to a sunburn is expected after treatment. It usually lasts from 2 to 24 hours, but can last up to 72 hours. Mild swelling and redness may also occur, usually subsiding within 2 to 3 days.

It is recommended to avoid the following activities until the redness subsides:

– applying irritating cosmetics to the treatment area,

– swimming, especially in artificial pools containing chemicals,

– hot tubs, visits to the jacuzzi or sauna,

– activities that increase sweating or raise body temperature,

– exposure to the sun or tanning of the skin after treatment. Be sure to apply cosmetics with SPF50 or higher to prevent skin tone changes.

You can bathe in the bath and shower as before, but your skin may be sensitive to temperature after the treatment.

There may be a sensation of hair growth, lasting from seven to thirty days after treatment. It is the laser-treated hair that is removed from the skin.

The number of laser epilation treatments depends on the color and texture of the hair, while about 6-8 treatments are recommended.

Yes, laser epilation can be performed in summer if the treated areas are not exposed to the sun. You should also remember to use high UV filters.

For best results, a minimum of 6-8 laser epilation treatments should be performed at the following intervals: arms – 6 weeks, bikini – 6 weeks, back – 8-10 weeks, legs – 8-10 weeks. The number of treatments needed to achieve the right results depends on the individual predisposition of the person.
