Q-Switch
The Q-Switched laser is based on a variable-length light beam whose transmission time is counted in nanoseconds. The wavelength depends on the type of discolouration or tattoo and the pigments used. The 1064 nm beam is good for removing dark colours such as black, blue and green, while the 532 nm wavelength is for brighter colours such as red, yellow, orange.
The laser breaks down the ink particles, which are then removed from the body. Controlled micro-tears are created which help to gradually get rid of the unwanted tattoo. Day by day the pigments weaken and consequently the tattoo disappears from the skin.
